February Challenge: THE SCARLET PACT (Board Game/TTRPG Highlights)

Image
This month's theme was called, "THE SCARLET PACT," which highlighted games in my collection that have red/pink components, or showcase different emotions, like passion or love to even anger or vengeance! 😈 Here are the ones I like to highlight: - Kreel Manor: The Dungeon Crawl Card Game - DOOM PILGRIM Pocket - Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast - Crypts of Obscurum 1. Kreel Manor: The Dungeon Crawl Card Game If you are already familiar with Tristan Hall's world of Kilforth and Veilwraith: A Veil Odyssey Game, well this game takes you back just before the end of the world. There is a "tear in the Veil" between the two worlds releasing deadly monsters into Kilforth. The source leads them to this dark and evil citadel, Kreel Manor. If you are already familiar with the mechanics of Veilwraith, then you will have no problem learning how to play Kreel Manor.  You pick your hero and you have 3 different abilities (Fight, Influence, and Sneak) that you can use to sla...

A Vinekin's Revenge (pt. 2): Onward to Thornmere

Next Day... Morgwen barely slept last night, her mind too tangled in the quiet but constant pulse of the living trees of Everveil. Luckily, the forests remained still this morning. Finally, it's morning... I should get going now. The sun's early morning rays started to peek through the trees. She quietly packs up her bedroll and puts her backpack on, hoping to not wake up the other travelers. "Pssst..."  Morgwen looks around trying to see who is trying to get her attention. It's Salo, yawning and stretching still laying down on his bedroll. He waves and she walks over to tell him that she wants to get moving. "Wow, you're up already? You sure you don't want to sleep in a bit? Everveil really freaks you out, huh," he says to her. She answers, "Well, can you blame me? I was about to get sucked into the earth last night til you came and saved me." Salo smiles and says, "No problem, we can head out together if you'd like. I can e...

Solo MTG: Playing my Creature, Death's Shadow

Image
Wow, this was first time actually using my creature Death's Shadow in my green-black deck of elves! And guess what, it brought me some sweet victory! I really had to learn how to just take some damage, but no too much. I played against this challenge deck, "Journey into Nyx: Defeat a God," and it is a HARD one. Xenagos has quite a few minions that allow him to attack twice. He can attack me directly for 6, so I had to time really carefully when to cast Death's Shadow.  One thing to note about this challenge deck is that Xenagos and his Revelers cannot attack me or my creatures unless he casts a spell that explicitly says so. If you want to learn more about how this challenge deck works, feel free to read my other blog where I cover it here . My plan was to cast as many elves as I can so then they can either help me ramp or to take damage when I know I couldn't take it as a player just yet. Death Shadow's ability: "Death's Shadow gets -X/-X, where X ...

A Vinekin's Revenge (pt.1): Welcome to Everveil

3 Years Ago... We need to leave and get out of here, Morgwen (main PC of the story) thought sitting on the edge of her bed, her head buried in her hands, our stupid family is in all this debt because of Father... They're going to kill him, and then come after us.  Her twin sister, Selene, noticed Morgwen's overwhelmed demeanor. The weight of this debt started to press down on her too.   Selene sat next to her and said, "Morgwen, I'm worried that they're going to come after us... it's all Father's fault. He's the one that got us into this shit; Grandfather is going to kill him. I'm sure he already hired people to..."  Morgwen interrupted, "Selene, we need to do something. We can't stay here, everyone knows our family, everyone literally wants our money and wants us dead, there are 'wanted' posters that have our names, we need to leave." She asked, "And, go where?" Morgwen answered, "Anywhere but here... tonig...
